It is a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy. It exhibits excellent biocompatibility and corrosion resistance. It is produced through powder metallurgy and has a fine-grained microstructure. It is tough, hard, and has high fatigue and wear resistance. The cobalt content negatively affects its machinability. It is non-magnetic.
