1.4466 is a grade of austenitic stainless steel.
1.4472 is an implant-grade material that offers excellent corrosion resistance along with good mechanical properties. It exhibits non-magnetic characteristics. The use of the VAR (Vacuum Arc Remelting) or PESR (Precision Electro-Slag Remelting) method ensures high-quality production for implant applications. The addition of niobium provides excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. It has a homogeneous, fine-grained structure with low inclusion values, resulting in high fatigue resistance.
